As soon as it was announced last week by Sami Zayn, fans instantly knew that WWE’s creative team was going to put on a cringeworthy segment by getting Bobby Lashley’s ‘sisters’ involved.

It all stems from the strange decision WWE made with the former ECW Champion. In an odd interview with Renee Young, WWE decided to discuss The Dominator’s family history in the build-up to his feud with Sami Zayn which doesn’t really help his persona.

LASHLEY'S SISTERS

It seems as if WWE simply didn’t learn their lesson from the trainwreck that was the ‘This Is Your Life’ segment featuring Bayley and Alexa Bliss and if the reactions are anything to go by, the silence on Monday Night RAW this week was deafening.

We saw bad jokes, bad acting and just general disinterest in something WWE fans never thought they’d see with Lashley.

Before he officially returned the night after WrestleMania 34, the assumption was that he’d be ready to take on Brock Lesnar at a marquee event like SummerSlam for the Universal Championship. Instead, he was involved in this segment and fans on social media have certainly let the WWE hear what they felt about the whole thing.

There are contrasting views on the segment. However, the thing they all have in common is that they are all largely negative and the fans who tuned in didn’t like what they saw.

CRITICISM

First, WWE fans are unhappy that a segment like this wasn’t enough to make them care about Lashley. The fact is, he’s a monster and should be booked like one, and this segment didn’t do anything to increase his stock or help him jump into the main event picture.

Then, there is the humorous side of things with fans poking fun at the segment in relation to WWE’s $1 billion deal with FOX - joking that the network will no longer want to be associated with the company after airing a segment like that.

However, the most understandably frustration comes from the fans that were genuinely offended by what they saw, stating that having the ‘sisters’ appear as men dressed in female clothing took transphobia to a new level.

While there have been fans that leapt to WWE’s defence over the third matter, it’s clear that fans will like to forget about this segment very soon.
