There's a new queen of the UFC's 115-pound division, and she doubled down on her claim to the throne last month in New York.

Rose Namajunas first shared the Octagon with Joanna Jedrzejczyk in November of last year at UFC 217 on pay-per-view (PPV).

She stunned the mixed martial arts (MMA) world by breaking the Polish striker's undefeated streak and taking the strawweight title with a first round knockout win.

Silencing The Doubters

Just a few months later, the pair would rematch at UFC 223 this past April in Brooklyn. Many believed that the win was fluke and Jedrzejczyk would be able to easily regain her title. But that's not at all what happened.

Namajunas again presented problems for Jedrzejczyk and kept up with her for 25 minutes of fighting, eventually besting her on the judges' scorecards to retain the title once again.

It was truly an amazing moment to see Namajunas rise above the doubters and naysayers to silence her critics on the biggest platform in her MMA career.

Now, Jedrzejczyk must re-focus her attention on getting back into title contention as she's set to take on Tecia Torres at UFC on FOX 30 this July.

A win over Torres will likely earn her another crack at the crown, or an opportunity at a title eliminator with another fellow top contender.

A Vicious Low-Blow

In the meanwhile, Namajunas has yet to be booked in a fight to make her second title defense of her career. She recently spoke to TMZ Sports about her amazing journey to the top of the strawweight mountain.

In regards to giving Joanna a third shot at beating her, Namajunas had a brilliant response to the question.

She said she'd be more than willing to give her Polish rival another crack at the crown - if she publicly admits that Namajunas is the best in the world (quotes via MMA Mania):

“Right now, that fight doesn’t really interest me at the moment,” Namajunas told TMZ.

“Unless she’s says I’m the best, publicly. Publicly, because I already know she knows. You gotta say it to everybody. She knows I’m the best, but she won’t admit it to everybody.”

It's highly unlikely Jedrzejczyk would ever admit that anyone but herself is the true queen at strawweight, but it's hard to deny that there's a strong possibility that she'll earn her way back into the championship fold sooner rather than later.
