Man United have made a decision on Anthony Martial's future amid Chelsea interest

Anthony Martial has had a tough season under Jose Mourinho.

The Frenchman has struggled for consistency and game time as Mourinho has often left him out the starting line-up.

Nevertheless, Martial still managed to feature in 45 games this campaign, albeit most from the bench, scoring 11 times.

But if reports are to be believed, Martial's future at Man United looks in doubt.

There are rumours of a rift between Mourinho and himself, which may lead to the 22-year-old being sold in the summer.

Martial will have no shortage of suitors.

The former Monaco man is one of the most talented youngsters in world football.

A number of teams have already been linked, including Chelsea and Tottenham, while he's also attracting attention from Juventus.

If he does make the move to Stamford Bridge, it has been hinted that Willian could move the other way: a deal which would probably welcome both sets of fans.

And it seems Martial's future has been all but resolved.

According to the Daily Mail, Man United are willing to listen to offers for the 22-year-old.

But there's a catch.

The Red Devils are aware of his talent and would prefer not to sell him to a club in England.

They feel as if Martial could come back to haunt them and want to avoid the possibility of that happening.

That would appear to all but rule out Chelsea and Tottenham. Juventus could now be the favourites.

What a shame that is for both Martial and Manchester United.

It is clear he has an abundance of talent, but it seems his relationship with Mourinho has reached breaking point.

If the Portuguese does decide to let him go, let's hope he doesn't turn out to be another Mohamed Salah or Kevin de Bruyne. Just for his sake...

Paul Scholes is just one of many connected with Manchester United that wants the 22-year-old to stay at the club.

"I’d like to think he’d stay, he’s a young player and he’s still got time to develop," Scholes said on BT Sport, per the Metro.

"Whether his manager quite fancies him I’m not too sure about that at the minute, he’s not shown too much confidence in him.

"I think he’s a really good talent, as I say young, there’s still time, I think he needs a bit of love he needs an arm around him.

"He needs a consistent run of games, he’s coming in and every time he comes on he impresses me – he’s a player I’d like to have in my team.

"I just hope he’s not one of those players that leaves and then we see the best of them. There is a danger."
