Portsmouth chief executive David Lampitt has praised Papa Bouba Diop following the midfielder's move to AEK Athens.

The Greek club announced last week that Diop had joined them on a two-year deal but the completed move was only made official by Pompey on Thursday. Lampitt told the club's official website: "We thank Papa for his contribution to Pompey and wish him the very best for the future."

The Senegal international made 72 appearances during his time at Fratton Park, with the last one coming in the FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea in May.
