Saracens have warned England not to consider another raid on their coaching staff following the departure of defense coach Paul Gustard.

Gustard (42) was announced as the new head of rugby at Harlequins on Monday having been a product of the Saracens coaching set-up himself.

He had been the second successive Saracens defense coach poached by England following Andy Farrel's departure to join Stuart Lancaster's set-up in 2011.

Current Saracens coach Alex Sanderson is touted as the favorite to replace Gustard, however, the club's director of rugby Mark McCall has stated that he wouldn't be happy to see his man leave.

When asked if he was keen to see Sanderson go to the England set-up McCall told the Daily Mail: "Not really no. It'll be Alex's decision that's for sure.

"Alex contributes so much to this club that it's hard for us to say really. He's not just a defence coach, he's way more than that. He's a brilliant coach.

"But he also understands that he's young, he started coaching when he was 27. He knows he's in a great place and a great job at the moment, and he's in no rush as far as I can see.

"He should be the director of rugby at this club at some point. And I hope that's what he wants to do.

"As a club we want to promote from within when it's possible, that's for sure. If I am told to leave or leave, then Alex should be the only candidate for the job."

Considering the aspirations that McCall has for Sanderson within the club and the record that England hold of poaching his coaches with such consistency it is perhaps not surprising to see a statement such as this.

Saracens have confirmed that none of their coaches have been approached for the vacant position so far but, with the record as it is, it seems only a matter of time before one is made.
