Football News

Recently there have been reports going around indicating that former beloved WWE tag team division member Big Cass could be in some hot water with the WWE.

Cass is just coming off a return from an ACL tear which kept him sidelined for the past several months. Upon his return, he was brought to SmackDown Live by way of the Superstar Shake-Up and seemed to be in line for a big singles push.

He was immediately thrusted into a feud with former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan.

Cass actually began cutting some pretty good promos on the microphone, which is a bit of a surprise to many fans considering he did little talking when he was paired up with Enzo Amore on WWE TV during their heyday as a duo.

Eventually, Cass attacked Bryan and would later go on to mock him in a segment of SmackDown Live. An angle featuring a little person dressed as Bryan who Cass would destroy.

Falling From Grace

It turns out, Cass was simply supposed to hit the little person with a Big Boot and be done with things.

Despite asking permission to do more and getting denied by Vince McMahon himself, Cass went against the grain and did it anyway.

Since then, he has reportedly had a ton of heat backstage and it's said this isn't the first time he has done something like this.

The Legend's Take

WWE Legend Sean "X-Pac" Waltman recently took to his podcast, "X-Pac 1,2,360,” to comment on the matter.

His response was perfect, as he detailed exactly why Cass is in trouble with WWE, and why it's different from the stuff he and The Kliq did during their run in the 90s (quotes via IWNerd):

“We have a saying in the [pro wrestling] industry, and it’s not just in our industry. It’s better to say sorry than ask for permission.

"But if you’re gonna go with that approach, you can’t go ahead and ask for permission and then get told no. And it seems like that’s the case here, and that’s just absolutely f’ing insane.

"Look. A lot of us have gone against the grain and done things that the company doesn’t like, but we never really went and asked for permission, but specifically told no, and then went and did it anyway on live TV.

"So, I understand if you feel the need, you wanna go out there and get over, but man.”
