There's a reason the WWE is the greatest professional wrestling entity in the history of the sport.

Since its inception, the WWE has chased down the biggest and most talented stars they can find to help bolster their roster. Currently, the roster features names such as Ronda Rousey, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, and Roman Reigns.

Not to mention the've made icons such as The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Hulk Hogan. WWE continues to grasp at straws in order to hopefully one day find a Superstar that can replicate that magic.

In short - WWE scours the globe for the best talent available on a regular basis. Oftentimes, top WWE personnel head out to indy shows around the world to scout some of the biggest names in independent wrestling.

As a result in recent years, stars like Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, Finn Balor, and many more have been discovered. It turns out WWE has been doing this as far back as 2012.

The List

A former WWE employee, was asked by Triple H's assistant to make a list of the top independent talents that he thought WWE should sign.

Essentially, this man was tasked with making WWE's wishlist of free agents in the year 2012, and it's amazing to see who is and isn't on that list. It's also interesting to see which of the names has since come to WWE.

Check out the list here:

As you can tell, the very top of the list featured El Generico. For those of you who don't know, this is none other than current WWE Monday Night RAW Superstar Sami Zayn!

Other big names on the list include Adam Cole, Jay and Mark Briscoe, Ricochet, Prince Devitt (Finn Balor), Kenny Omega, Colt Cabana, and so many more talented athletes.

WWE Always Gets Their Man

Another interesting aspect of this list is the fact that not only did WWE end up signing it's number one desired man on the list, but it wound up signing four of its top five desired targets (with the exception of Jay and Mark Briscoe at the number two spot).

This just goes to show that WWE will always get what it wants in the end, so it may only be a matter of time before some of those other names on the list are crossed out as well.
