The WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament is only a couple of weeks away and the WWE has hyped up the event even further by confirming a legendary WWE Hall of Famer will be appearing at the show at London’s Royal Albert Hall on June 18.

The United Kingdom Championship Tournament is already a jam-packed event which will include wrestlers from the UK's wrestling scene, as well as superstars from WWE's NXT promotion including Triple H. Five NXT matches will take place at the venue over the two days.

However, WWE announced today that another huge name would be appearing at London’s Royal Albert Hall on June 18, a legendary WWE Hall of Famer nevertheless.

HBK

WWE has reported that Shawn Michaels will be attending the United Kingdom Championship Tournament. He will be returning to the iconic venue where he fought in the first-ever WWE match to take place at the Royal Albert Hall in 1991.

Michaels fought alongside his Rockers tag team partner Marty Jannetty against The Nasty Boys in the opening match of the Battle Royal at the Royal Albert Hall event in 1991. This event marked the start of 27 consecutive years of live events there, a streak that continues to this day.

What role HBK will be used in remains unclear, but WWE has stated that he will be sure to share his experience with the competitors of the United Kingdom Championship Tournament, having appeared at three of the five WWE live events held at the landmark arena to date.

Also at the event over the two days, United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne will be teaming with Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate & Trent Seven) against The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong) on June 18.

Dunne will defend the UK Championship the following day against the winner of the United Kingdom Championship Tournament.

Also on June 19, three NXT championship matches will take place, including an NXT North American Championship match, an NXT Women’s Championship match, and an NXT Tag Team Championship match. A tag team match of NXT Champion Aleister Black & Ricochet vs Velveteen Dream & EC3 will also take place.
