The Houston Rockets may only be one more win away from booking their spot in the NBA Finals for the first time since the 1994-95 season, but they may have to achieve this goal without their star point guard, Chris Paul. However, one stat proves this shouldn't concern Rockets fans too much.

The Rockets won Game 5 against the Golden State Warriors last night at the Toyota Center in Houston. Paul played a huge part in the team's victory, as he scored 20 points, with seven rebounds, and six assists.

However, reports via ESPN after the game had stated that the point guard's hamstring was still 'really sore' late Thursday night and that he had felt 'a twinge' upon landing after a jumper in the final minute of Game 5.

Losing Paul for Game 6 on Saturday and/or possibly Game 7 on Monday would be a huge blow for the Rockets, as he's played a big part in the team's success in the regular season and the playoffs this season.

However, Houston fans need not to worry too much if Paul is out of action this weekend, as one interesting stat states the team might be able to survive without him, so long as they have James Harden on the court.

No Paul? No problem

According to ESPN, the Rockets have played 47 minutes in this Western Conference Finals series with their MVP nominee on the floor without their point guard. In that span, they've outscored the Warriors by 11.6 points per 100 possessions.

Although this is such a small sample size of only 47 minutes, the fact the stats go in the Rockets' favour should give the team confidence that they can book their spot in this year's NBA Finals without Paul being on the floor.

Paul has been a solid performer through the playoffs for Houston, as he has averaged 21.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game. Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals takes place on Saturday at the Oracle Arena in Oakland.
