Manchester United fans will probably go into hiding if Liverpool defeat Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday. It would end a season in which Manchester City won the Premier League and Chelsea lifted the FA Cup trophy after beating the Red Devils at Wembley Stadium.A Liverpool win in Kiev really would be the final straw.Man United legend Gary Neville already has plans to flee the country if Jurgen Klopp’s side prevail.“We’ve got a charter booked for the 27th of May,” Neville recently joked.“There will be a million flights booked out of Manchester to the forests of the Amazon where there’s no wifi.

“We’re out of here, we’re gone. It’d be the season from hell.”

What Beckham told Zidane

You’ll be hard pushed to find a Man United fan who wants to see Liverpool succeed - excusing Rory McIlroy - and David Beckham is among those desperate for Real Madrid to win.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid winger recently met Zinedine Zidane to analyse the final and his closing remark has gone down very well with Man United fans.

“I just want to wish Zizou, the boss, the president, the club, good luck in the Champions League final and please beat Liverpool, please!,” Beckham said.

Just listen to the desperation in his voice!

Man United fans are now hailing Beckham as a “legend” on social media.

It’s not just Beckham’s affinity to Los Blancos, where he spent four seasons, that has caused his desire to see Zidane and co. win the Champions League for a third straight season.

The Man United-Liverpool rivalry is very much real and Beckham - a graduate of the Class of ’92 - buys into it.

So it’s easy to see why he’s hopeful Cristiano Ronaldo and co. can overcome Klopp’s Reds.

Real are the slight favourites to win the final and that may be due as much to their experience as anything.

But Klopp believes Real’s experience can only take them so far.

“Experience is very important and I'm pretty sure that in the seconds before the game Real will be more confident than we are," the German said.

"But it's not a problem because the game doesn't end in that second, it only starts.”

That's a great way of looking at it.
