WWE fans never thought they’d see Kurt Angle wrestle again, but his induction into the Hall of Fame last year only moved him one step closer to an in-ring return.

After months of acting as the Monday Night RAW general manager, the company had no choice but to ask Angle to ditch the suit for the singlet when he was forced to step in to replace Roman Reigns in a new-look Shield at the TLC event in 2017.

IN-RING RETURN

He was successful in his comeback - even though it’s not the match many thought he’d return in - as he, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeated The Miz, Braun Strowman, Cesaro, Sheamus and Kane in a 5-on-3 handicap match.

Following that, Angle competed at Survivor Series while the most popular contest he was featured in took place at WrestleMania 34, where he and Ronda Rousey defeated Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in New Orleans.

Obviously, Angle doesn’t have many matches left in him but there’s one he teased on social media which has fans dreaming of a potential dream rematch down the line.

One Twitter user decided to reminisce as he posted a gif of Angle delivering a big suplex to John Cena at WrestleMania XIX. Angle then has a brilliant response of his own which gauged an excellent reaction from the fans.

TAMING THE BEAST

As you’ll be able to see below, he posted: “I tamed the beat once. Bet I could do it again. #itstrue.”

As you can imagine, the fans were guessing what would happen should they ever meet again.

Angle put up a valiant effort at WrestleMania XIX where Lesnar emerged victorious, while Angle was one of the few men who were able to make Lesnar tap out for the WWE Championship when they met back in 2003 at the SummerSlam pay-per-view.

Obviously, with Angle now in an on-screen role and The Beast’s time in WWE supposedly coming to an end - despite being the Universal Champion - it’s almost impossible to see this rematch take place between the men.

However, Angle, who many could call the original founder of Suplex City, has defied the odds and competed once before and fans would be foolish to completely rule out an Angle match in the future.
