Michy Batshuayi showed Chelsea what he can do after moving on loan to Borussia Dortmund in January.

The Belgian striker had big boots to fill, as he was brought in to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

But Batshuayi made sure Dortmund fans did not miss the Gabonese international one bit, as he scored nine times in 14 games for Die Borussen.

Unfortunately, his season was cut short after suffering an ankle injury in April.

Nevertheless, he still impressed enough to the point that the German side want to bring him back to the club on a permanent basis this summer.

The two sides have spoken about a potential move, and the Daily Mail reported earlier on Saturday that further discussions have taken place in recent times.

Chelsea would be happy to sell and are asking £50 million for the 24-year-old.

But the Daily Mail go on to say that Chelsea could ask for an exciting player in return.

Christian Pulisic has been on the Blues' radar for some time, and it is believed that the 19-year-old remains a 'firm target' for Chelsea.

The report claims that Chelsea could use Dortmund's interest in Batshuayi to help prise Christian Pulisic from the Bundesliga club.

However, Antonio Conte's side could face competition from Bayern Munich for the £60 million rated winger.

It would still be an amazing swap-deal if Chelsea were to get Pulisic in exchange for Batshuayi.

Although the Belgian is a talented player, he has struggled for game time in England and is not considered a regular starter.

Pulisic, on the other hand, is one of the most exciting youngsters in world football.

At 19 years old, he has the world at his feet.

He would probably be a starter at Chelsea from the outset, and has the potential to grow into one of the best players in world football in the future.

Batshuayi has spoken out amid doubts about his future.

The Belgian striker claimed that he enjoyed his spell at Dortmund, but would be happy to stay at Chelsea as he considers both to be 'beautiful clubs'.

“Dortmund was a great experience for me,” he said at a news conference. “They welcomed me very warmly. I was in a good environment and you could see that on the pitch.

“It was a while since I had played so much. I can't remember being allowed to play two games in a row at Chelsea. It was good to gain confidence.

“I don't have a preference; they're two beautiful clubs. My focus is on the World Cup right now and I don't want to think about what happens afterwards.”
