Tomorrow night (Sun. May 27, 2018) UFC Liverpool is set to put on one of the most highly-anticipated fights of the year - but regardless of the out come, there's going to be a black eye on the result.

This morning Darren Till hit the weight scale to weigh in for his clash with No. 1-ranked welterweight Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson, and sadly missed weight by 3.5 pounds.

Despite this, the fight will go on and Till will give 30 percent of his purse to Thompson.

UFC Fight Night: Volkov v Struve

A True Test

The action goes down from the Echo Arena in Till’s home city of Liverpool, England. After his scorching of former lightweight title-challenger Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone, Till has been on mixed martial arts (MMA) fans' radars for quite some time.

Now, he gets the opportunity to test himself against the elite at 170 pounds, against two-time title-challenger Thompson.

Unfortunately, if Till were to win this fight it will be slightly tainted, as he obviously didn't make weight and will be heavier that Thompson heading into the cage.

End Of The Hype Train?

Fans were hyped to see Till take on Thompson tomorrow night, but it seems that a lot of them have gotten off the Englishman's hype train as a result to his missing weight. Here's how fans are reacting to the news:

Thompson's father also had some words for Till missing weight earlier this morning. He called Till out for dropping the ball big time in front of his native crowd (quotes via MMA Fighting):

“Listen, Till called us out! He’s been a bit disrespectful during the course of promoting this fight. We came across the world, into HIS HOME TOWN, in front of HIS PEOPLE, AND WE MAD WEIGHT!

"Stephen is a fighter and would never want to disappoint the fans (short of illness) and came to fight! His management is working out the details,” Ray Thompson said.
