Like many Manchester United fans, Gary Neville would have been dreading the prospect of Liverpool winning the Champions League title.Neville said earlier this month that it could be 'the season of hell', and joked that he would travel for a year to somewhere with no wifi if Liverpool emerged victors.“Make no mistake about it, this could be the season from hell,” he told the Telegraph. “I mean, Manchester City have won the title [by 19 points], they’ve won two trophies."If Liverpool now win the European Cup and Chelsea beat United in the FA Cup final, to be honest I might go travelling for a year to somewhere where there’s no Wi-Fi or phone signal."Chelsea have already won the FA Cup, meaning Neville's nightmares would have come true if Liverpool beat Real Madrid on Saturday. But, fortunately for him, the Reds fell at the last hurdle as Real Madrid emerged 3-1 victors.

GARY NEVILLE TWEETS AFTER RESULT

Of course, many Liverpool fans have been sending Neville some banter in the lead up to the final.

One such tweet came from DJ Spoony, a British DJ and former Radio 1 presenter, stating he would wind Neville up if Liverpool were to emerge victors.

Well, they didn't.

And Neville responded with a brilliant tweet of his own.

Neville parodied Liverpool's 'Allez' chant, and it's absolutely gold.

Wow.

Neville is a legend in many United fans' eyes.

But he's gone even further up in their estimation, if that were even possible.

It's needless to say it went viral almost immediately.

He enraged the whole Liverpool fan-base, but Man United fans all showed their appreciation.

GARETH BALE WAS THE REAL MADRID HERO

Gareth Bale proved to be the hero for Real Madrid.

He started on the bench, but made an instant impact after coming on off the bench.

His wonder-goal in the 55th minute will go down as one of the best goals in history, and then he completed the win with a long range effort which was spilled into the goal by Loris Karius.

Manchester United have long been linked with making a move for Bale, and the forward only fuelled those rumours with his comments after the game.

When asked about moving to the Premier League, he responded: "I need to be playing week in, week out.

"That hasn't happened this season for one reason or another.

"I had a five or six week injury at the start of the season but I've been fit ever since.

"I have to sit down in the summer and discuss it with my agent."
