Despite having been in the professional wrestling world for over 20 years, Chris Jericho is still very much a top star in the industry.Jericho splits his time between touring around the world with his Rock band Fozzy, conducting his podcast on a regular basis, and wrestling. At the age of 47-years-old, Jericho is still going strong and putting on amazing matches inside the ring.In fact, late last year he made a move that shocked a lot of WWE fans. Given that he's not under WWE contract, Jericho decided to go over to New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and do some work there.

NJPW

He feuded with fellow Canadian Kenny Omega in a feud the two sparked on social media. It was later announced they'd be facing each other at Wrestle Kingdom 12 in a No Disqualification match.

Jericho cut some amazing promos on Omega during his time in Japan, and the pair absolutely tore the house down inside the Tokyo Dome when they finally went head-to-head.

After his program with Omega ended, Jericho returned to NJPW to begin his new program with Tetsuya Naito. He will challenge Naito for the IWGP Intercontinental Title at the NJPW Dominion pay-per-view (PPV).

Freedom

Jericho has certainly done a lot more work for NJPW than WWE in recent months, and its been an amazing thing to see. Part of the reason his NJPW run has been so great is because he has had creative freedom with the promotion.

A fan recently asked Dave Meltzer if this is the reason that Jericho is working more NJPW shows than WWE. Here's what he had to say:

When the creative reigns are given to Jericho, there's absolutely no stopping him. This is the same man who got over a plant, the word "it," and The List Of Jericho.

Y2J has been in the business for a very long time and has established himself as one of the greatest of all time.

While we will certainly see him working in WWE again one day, we should also enjoy the time that Jericho is spending in NJPW - because this is one of the few times nowadays we get to see his full creative genius unleashed.
