Sergio Ramos didn't exactly endear himself to Liverpool fans during last night's Champions League final.

The Real Madrid captain is never too far from controversy and was involved in numerous incidents during his club's 3-1 win last night.

It was his tackle on Mohamed Salah in the first-half that looked to change the game, sending him off injured with a crock that could rule him out of the World Cup.

Jurgen Klopp reflected after the game: "I know if you say something like that after a game you lost, it sounds like you are a little bit a bad loser but it was, for me, kind of a harsh challenge.

"It's like wrestling a little bit and it's unlucky then that Mo fell on his shoulder."

Then there was his questionable reaction to a foul from Sadio Mane as well as a few other escapades sprinkled throughout the match.

And one of the other major talking points of the final concerned Loris Karius.

The much maligned Liverpool goalkeeper endured a nightmare performance in Kiev.

An ill-judged throw led to Karim Benzema scoring in truly bizarre circumstances after 51 minutes, before the German inexplicably spilt a Gareth Bale long shot into his own net in the closing moments.

However, before all the errors, Karius was involved in an incident with Ramos that largely went under the radar.

Ramos appeared to elbow Karius

Fans have picked up on it after the game and it's caused no shortage of controversy.

Just two minutes before Karius' first error, it appears that Ramos left an elbow in on the Liverpool goalkeeper, causing him to fall to the floor. Check it out below:

Was it deliberate or did Virgil van Dijk give him a nudge?

Debatable but Liverpool supporters certainly weren't happy with the incident. Take a look at the reaction below:

Fans aren't trying to say Karius was somehow unhinged by the incident; rather that it shows the pressure Real Madrid players were putting him under throughout the match.

And it seems the Ramos collision show that fact all too well.

It doesn't excuse what were two dreadful errors from Karius, however, who was distraught after the match.

In an interview with talkSPORT, he reflected: "I don’t feel anything right now.

"Today I lost my team the game and I feel sorry for everyone. I’m sorry for everyone – from the team, from the whole club – that the mistakes cost dearly.

"If I could go back in time, I would. I feel sorry for my team. I know I let them down today."
