The Champions League final was a heartbreaking occasion for Loris Karius.

Selected between the sticks for one of the biggest games in Liverpool's history, it turned out to be a disastrous evening in Kiev for the German shot stopper.

The 24-year-old was at fault for two of Real Madrid's goals.

He inexplicably rolled the ball out to Karim Benzema for Los Blancos' opening strike, with the Frenchman stabbing home.

Karius couldn't do anything about Gareth Bale's stunning bicycle kick but conceded his second goal with a moment of pure calamity, allowing a long range strike to slip through his grasp.
