Real Madrid won the Champions League for an incredible third straight year on Saturday thanks to a 3-1 win over Liverpool.

The clash in Kiev will be remembered for Mohamed Salah's injury, Gareth Bale's unbelievable overhead kick and Loris Karius' two massive mistakes.

One man who didn't grab many of the headlines immediately after the 90 minutes was Cristiano Ronaldo, but that changed pretty quickly afterwards.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner shocked everyone by appearing to cast doubt over his future at the Bernabeu during post-match interviews.

However, the ex-Manchester United man took to the microphone on Sunday evening in Real's celebrations to set the record straight ahead of the World Cup.

Cristiano causes stir with post-match comments

Ronaldo caused a stir after telling reporters: "Now (it's time) to enjoy, and in the next few days I will give an answer to the fans that are on my side. It was beautiful to be at Real Madrid."

Many people, from media outlets to supporters, thought Real's main man could have possibly been suggesting that his time in Madrid was coming to an end.

He then apologised, expressed regret for taking attention away from Madrid's 13th European Cup triumph, adding: "I have to rest now, in the next few weeks (I'll make an announcement)."

Real celebrate at Cibeles

Every single member of Zinedine Zidane's squad was in fine spirits on Sunday as they celebrated their Champions League win with Madridistas in the heart of the Spanish capital.

In what was a party atmosphere at Cibeles, captain Sergio Ramos got things started by hoisting the trophy in the air with Marcelo and giving a little speech.

What Ronaldo said in Real's CL celebration

However, Cristiano used the occasion to clarify his future as the 33-year-old grabbed the mic and shouted six seemingly definitive words directly to Real fans.

The Portugal icon, who will captain his country at the World Cup, had a short message, yelling, via The Mirror: "Thanks guys, see you next year."

The forward struggled to make an impact in the final against Liverpool but fans chanted "Siiiiu!" and "Cristiano, stay!" upon his arrival at the Bernabeu on Sunday.

Madrid's number seven then added, via Marca: "I'm proud to play for the biggest club in the world. I'm very happy. With these players, it's impossible not to win."

Ronaldo still finished as the competition's top scorer this season with 15 goals and netted an impressive 44 times in 44 games in all competitions in 2017-18.

These latest remarks from CR7 indicate that he'll still be at Real Madrid come the start of the 2018-19 campaign, but only time will tell.
