Everyone connected with Manchester United would have been relieved with the outcome of the Champions League final.

After ending the season trophy-less, Man United fans knew that watching Liverpool win Europe's biggest club competition would make it the season from hell.

Many appealed to Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo to do their best from preventing the unthinkable from happening.

And fortunately for them, Real Madrid managed to prevail 3-1.

Ronaldo made little impact for Los Blancos, but they still managed to triumph nevertheless thanks to two disastrous errors from Loris Karius in Liverpool's goal.

Man United fans would have no doubt breathed a huge sigh of relief when the final whistle went.

LIVERPOOL FANS' TREATMENT OF MAROUANE FELLAINI

One of Manchester United's players attended the final in Kiev.

Fellaini would have undoubtedly been cheering on Real Madrid in the lead up to the final.

But events which unfolded outside the stadium would have only intensified that feeling.

While making the walk into the stadium, Fellaini was approached, and then heckled by a group of Liverpool fans.

The episode was caught on camera, where Liverpool fans can be seen pushing cameras in his face while shouting a number of obscenities.

It makes for sad viewing indeed.

That is shocking to say the least.

The Liverpool fans involved should be ashamed of themselves.

Fellaini was simply minding his own business, yet a handful of Reds supporters still came over to try and provoke him into a reaction.

Fair play to the Belgian for ignoring the fans giving him abuse.

FELLAINI SET FOR MOVE

It does not seem that Fellaini will be a Manchester United player for much longer, anyway.

The Belgian's contract is set to run out this summer, and has rebuffed a number of contract offers from his club.

Possible destinations include Marseille and AC Milan.

And although he would like him to stay, Jose Mourinho has admitted he is powerless to stop Fellaini from leaving.

“I’m still positive," he said earlier this month. "He’s important. He’s a player that I like.

"But he has a different position in relation to other players with contracts. We can control other players’ destiny but in Marouane’s case, the destiny is in his hands.

“He knows I want him to stay, the club wants him to stay, he has an offer from us and it’s up to him to say yes or no.

“I am still positive, as he likes to be here, he likes the feeling of the manager trusting him and I think there is a good chance for him to stay. But if he leaves, so be it.”
