When will The Undertaker officially retire? It’s a question that has been asked so many times over the years, yet nobody knows when that day will officially come.

The world rightfully thought WrestleMania 33 was the final time we would see The Deadman compete inside of a ring. As expected, Roman Reigns hit a huge Spear to become only the second man after Brock Lesnar to inflict a WrestleMania defeat on The Undertaker.

RETIREMENT

He could have quietly walked up the ramp, and his loss would have eventually been forgotten. However, when he left his iconic gloves, hat and coat in the middle of the ring, it came as no surprise that the WWE Universe thought that was the last time we’d see him.

Since then, though, The Phenom competed at WrestleMania 34 as he squashed John Cena in a matter of minutes, while he was featured in a longer contest in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia as he defeated Rusev in a Casket match at the Greatest Royal Rumble event.

Naturally, everyone is assuming that he’ll be back as it looks highly unlikely that his final match in WWE saw him bury Rusev and Aiden English in a casket.

Fans will be split, though, as there are those that don’t want to see him call it a day just yet while others are prioritising his health and want to see him finally retire. When that question was brought up by GiveMeSport’s Alex McCarthy to Seth Rollins during the 60 Second Sunday’s segment, The Kingslayer didn’t even hesitate in his response.

ROLLINS' RESPONSE

As you’ll be able to see in the clip below, the current Intercontinental Champion immediately said yes when asked whether or not The Undertaker should retire.

Although no explanation was given due to the time limit, Rollins’ answer in 2017 was very different, where he claimed that he’d love to be The Undertaker’s opponent - if he’s up for competing at another WrestleMania.

On that occasion, he said: “Is The Undertaker retired? I don’t know, the way he left at WrestleMania 33 it would look like it, but you never know in this business. If he’s up for another match at WrestleMania, I’d love to be his opponent.”

Rollins has been on fire lately and is drawing plenty of praise for his performances, so if anybody does deserve that honour, then The Architect’s name would probably be at the top of the pile.

But with Rollins claiming that The Deadman should now retire, any clash between the pair looks highly unlikely.
