Manchester United fans were spared the season from hell on Saturday.Having lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup final, and watched Manchester City cruise to the Premier League title, the last thing Man United fans wanted to see was Liverpool hoist the Champions League trophy.Thankfully for them, Loris Karius had a stinker and Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in Kiev. There are still several uncertainties at Old Trafford right now and this past season has raised some concerns.Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford’s careers have hardly developed. Paul Pogba isn’t living up to the hype and Alexis Sanchez failed to settle following his January move from Arsenal.Jose Mourinho’s style of play also hasn’t gone down well with a fan base that became accustomed to exciting football under Sir Alex Ferguson.A player like Martial should be thriving right now, but he started only 18 Premier League matches and Man United are reportedly open to the idea of selling him.

Martial tweets Liverpool fan

But for now he remains a Red Devil, and he pleased the fans on Monday afternoon with a tweet he sent to a Liverpool fan.

Twitter user @FinallyHad wrote: “Anthony Martial at work, I pass by him in a Liverpool jersey, he gives me a sign that my jersey is dirty, I kiss the Liver Bird before him”.

Martial spotted the tweet and responded: “You should change your jersey 😉”.

The Frenchman’s tweet was always going to go down well with Man United fans.

If that is to be one of Martial’s final acts as a Man United player, he’ll have left on a good note.

There are reports that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the 22-year-old, who joined Man United in 2015.

Mauricio Pochettino certainly seems like a manager more suited to Martial’s style than Mourinho does, but the forward would command a hefty transfer fee.

Man United icon Paul Scholes has urged his former employer’s to be patient with Martial.

"I'd like to think he'd stay, he's a young player and he's still got time to develop," Scholes said on BT Sport.

"Whether his manager quite fancies him I'm not too sure about that at the minute, he's not shown too much confidence in him.

"I think he's a really good talent, as I say young, there's still time, I think he needs a bit of love he needs an arm around him.

"He needs a consistent run of games, he's coming in and every time he comes on he impresses me - he's a player I'd like to have in my team.

"I just hope he's not one of those players that leaves and then we see the best of them. There is a danger."
