Gareth Bale may have been the star of Real Madrid's Champions League final victory over Liverpool, but Sergio Ramos certainly played his part too.The Spanish international brought down Mo Salah in the first half, resulting in the Egyptian suffering a dislocated shoulder and missing the rest of the 90 minutes. It's impossible to say whether things might have been different for Jurgen Klopp's men had the 25-year-old stayed on the pitch. However, given that he scored 44 goals in all competitions this season, it seems likely that he would have made an impact.Reds fans were understandably furious with Ramos' antics as whether the foul was accidental or not, unfortunately his reputation is always going to precede him.On the one hand, advocates of the centre-back would argue that he has an elite mentality and is willing to do whatever it takes to help his team win.All the same, his ongoing behaviour is not very sporting and it was particularly disappointing to see it affect Salah, whose transformation into a Ballon d'Or contender has been one of the feelgood fairytales of the season.

Football fans were enraged

La Liga fans will be unsurprised, though, considering what they've seen from Ramos over the years.

To prove that point, one Lionel Messi-dedicated Twitter account - who, let's be honest, probably isn't a big fan of Real Madrid anyway - has compiled a montage of the defender's dirtiest moments against the Argentine:

It's easy to forget sometimes amid Messi's phenomenal achievements just what he has to put up with week in week out and above all, when Barca play their arch-rivals.

So, when Ramos' past record is taken into account, what happened in Kiev certainly doesn't look good.

That said, Salah did fall awkwardly and his opponent can't have envisaged the injury being so serious.

To his credit, the aggressor did send the former Roma winger a get-well-soon message after the game, though it didn't come as much consolation to Liverpool fans.

"Football teaches you the sweetest face at times and the bitterest of others," he posted on Twitter.

"First of all we are partners. Early recovery, Salah. The future awaits you. Sometimes Football shows you it's good side and other times the bad. Above All, we are fellow pros."
