Liverpool's midfield is going to be a force to be reckoned with next season judging by their recent activity in the summer transfer window.

In addition to Naby Keita's pre-agreed move from RB Leipzig, the Reds have captured Monaco's Fabinho for a fee in the region of £44 million.

Oh, and Jurgen Klopp is now planning to sign Lyon's Nabil Fekir as well before the 2018 World Cup starts next month.

Three new faces in midfield means Klopp is going to have quite the selection dilemma on his hands for the 2018/19 season.

Emre Can is on the brink of joining Juventus, but Liverpool still have Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Adam Lallana and Georginio Wijnaldum to choose from.

What's great about Liverpool's midfield options, though, is that they're all versatile. Following Fabinho's arrival, Klopp said the 24-year-old is capable of playing in several positions.

"He has ability and mentality to play at the highest level in a number of positions," said the German. "He can play '6', '8' and '2'. This is cool. He is tactically very strong and football smart.

OPTIONS IN ABUNDANCE

"I think he improves our squad and there aren't that many players you can say that about in this moment, because the quality we have already is so high."

So how might Liverpool's midfield look next season with so many players to choose from? Let's take a look at four exciting line-ups, with Fekir only featuring once given he hasn't joined yet.

1. FABINHO, HENDERSON, KEITA FLAT THREE

2. HENDERSON/FABINHO HOLDING, KEITA FURTHER FORWARD

3. FABINHO HOLDING, OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN/KEITA FURTHER FORWARD

4. FABINHO HOLDING, FEKIR/KEITA FURTHER FORWARD

It all depends on Klopp's tactics for next season. Keita, Henderson and Fabinho in a flat three would provide balance and strength, but having someone further forward might be best.

Keita is renowned for being an all-rounder in midfield so there's every chance Klopp could play him in a slightly more advanced position, either on his own or with another Liverpool player.

Oxlade-Chamberlain and Fekir would both be exciting options, though the former is due to be sidelined for a long time through injury.

It's not going to be easy finding Liverpool's best midfield trio in the best formation with so many players to choose from, but if anyone can do that it's Klopp.
