Chad Gable hasn’t had the best of luck since moving up from NXT to the main roster.

While he did capture the SmackDown tag team championships at one stage, his run alongside Shelton Benjamin didn’t live up to the high expectations many had set, and now, he’s part of the Monday Night RAW roster following the Superstar Shake-up.

TAG TEAMS

During this singles run, fans have been left wondering what the WWE has planned for him and which direction they could take him in. It’s obvious he oozes talent, and the fans love him, but there doesn’t seem to be anything the WWE is building towards.

This week on Monday Night RAW, the former NXT tag team champion was the unlucky victim as Drew McIntyre steamrolled through him during their one on one match. McIntyre, who looked fantastic in the match, was clearly booked to look much stronger as he manhandled Gable, smashing him with plenty of kicks and power moves to break him down.

Gable did try a comeback attempt in the match, which is typical of a face but it’s perhaps not a wise move doing it against someone the world wants to see as a Universal or WWE Champion. Still, McIntyre continued slapping him around and landed a vicious Claymore to pick up the win.

While it’s excellent news that McIntyre’s second main roster run is going well, Gable isn’t having the same luck, but fans on social media think they have figured out exactly what the WWE is planning.

AMERICAN ALPHA

They believe that WWE will continue having the likes of McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler destroying Gable which will lead to Jason Jordan making his return on RAW, only for the duo to reform the popular American Alpha group.

Jordan has reportedly been backstage for some shows now, so it sounds like he’s ready to make that return and unless WWE wants to revisit the father-son storyline with Kurt Angle, reforming the team helps both men as fans were behind them as a team both on NXT and SmackDown LIVE.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer also speculated this on Wrestling Observer Radio, claiming that Gable’s career is going nowhere as a single star while RAW’s tag team division could seriously use a team like American Alpha.
