The FIFA World Cup is just two weeks away and it can’t come soon enough.

It is going to be a long two weeks for football fans who will have to make do with dull warm-ups and friendlies for now until the tournament proper kicks off on the 15th of July.

While the first match of the tournament could prove to be a bit of an anti-climax when hosts Russia take on Saudi Arabia, the tournament really gets down to business when favourites Spain take on Portugal in Sochi on only the second day.

Brazil, Spain and of course, Germany, are currently favourites to lift the famous trophy while Belgium and Argentina boast strong squads of their own.

However, one team that will be quietly confident on stealing a march on the Moscow final will be France, who will travel to Russia with one of the most impressive squads they have assembled in many a year.

Les Bleus ramped up preparations for Russia with a friendly against the Republic of Ireland, cruising to an easy 2-0 win while managing to rest some massive names at the same time.

None of Paul Pogba, Ousmane Dembele and Antoine Griezmann took part in the Irish game and the French didn’t look like they missed them at all.

Imagine having being able to call upon that kind of talent.

However, the above-mentioned trio got a chance to sharpen up during a friendly with the PSG under 19's and they more than showed why France poses such a threat in Russia.

Dembele and Griezmann in particular, tore the poor lads to shreds with terrifying ease as they jogged in five goals.

Deary me. The youngsters didn’t stand a chance.

It is clear to see from the video that the terrible duo were functioning at only 50 percent too, which is perhaps what will scare their rivals the most.

Drop Nabil Fekir into an equation that sees the three of them really turning it on, and you have one of, if not the most exciting attacking line-up that will be on display in Russia.

Viva La France?

It might just be their year.
