What Momo Zhou did after Switzerland miss double in World Cup of Darts was disrespectful

Momo Zhou made history on Thursday night as she became just the second female player to feature in the World Cup of Darts.

And she gave a good account of herself, too.

China went into their first round game against Switzerland as the underdogs, but they still put in a decent performance.

The Chinese thrower was steady on the board and she looked compose in front of a packed crowd in Frankfurt.

She even won a leg for her country as she nailed double 10 in the fifth leg.

Unfortunately, however, China would lose 5-2, knocking the pair out of the competition.

One moment during her game had commentator Wayne Mardle absolutely perplexed.

With Switzerland throwing for a 4-0 advantage, China would have had to mount an extraordinary comeback to get in the game.

Fortunately for them, Andy Bless would narrowly miss double 16 for the Swiss team.

But how Zhou reacted was just plain bizarre.

With her partner Zong Xiao Chen composing himself, Zhou threw her hands up in the air in celebration while also letting out a beaming smile.

This had Mardle in hysterics, stating that her actions were 'absolutely brilliant' and that he'd 'he'd seen it all.'

Her celebration was a bit much though, don't you think?

Very few players, if any, have ever expressed their joy after an opponent missing a double in such a manner.

Although it's understandable that she was hoping for the Swiss team to miss, to actually celebrate comes across as a little bit disrespectful.

That miss did not hinder the Swiss team though, as they would later close out a 5-2 victory to cruise into the second round of the competition.

Many darts fans were left impressed with Zhou, including world number 69 and darts commentator, Paul Nicholson.

The Australian tweeted: "Momo Zhou can play. I’m impressed by her approach and technique."

It'll be interesting to see how she fares the next time she finds herself on the big stage again.

What do you think of Zhou's celebration? Do you think it was disrespectful? Have your say by leaving a comment below.
