Middlesbrough will not be offering deals to trialists Mirko Pieri and Jackson Mendy.

The pair, both left-backs, played 45 minutes a piece in the 2-0 friendly win against Sachsen Leipzig on Wednesday night.

Boss Gordon Strachan told Boro's official website: "We don't think we'll be taking either of them."

Boro currently have cover at left-back in the shape of Andrew Taylor, Jonathan Grounds and Joe Bennett.
