Despite being a heel, The Miz is arguably one of the most loved superstars on the WWE roster in what many would call a 'love-to-hate' situation - similar to Kevin Owens.

The fact is, he's so good at what he does on television that fans just cannot help but find themselves cheering for him, and it's why most want him to leave Chicago with the Money in the Bank briefcase.

FAN SUPPORT

It's well deserved. After falling out of the world title picture, nobody had done better than The Miz in the mid-card scene where his multiple reigns as the Intercontinental Champion helped elevate the prestige of the championship and made it the top title on Monday Night RAW when Brock Lesnar and the Universal Championship were both absent.

Now, he's over on SmackDown LIVE and has the perfect chance to become Mr. Money in the Bank for the second time. Considering he is a heel with cowardly traits, he fits the mould of a briefcase holder perfectly with fans expecting him to become WWE Champion sooner rather than later.

Fans still look back fondly on his recent run as Intercontinental Champion, however, before Seth Rollins took it from him at WrestleMania 34. In an out of character interview with SPORTbible, fans were surprised to hear just how much praise The A-Lister was throwing The Kingslayer's way.

In the same interview, The Miz revealed the one thing he didn't care about as his run as Intercontinental Champion, claiming that all of the talk of him breaking records was overhyped and that the fans cared about it more than he did.

RECORDS

According to Rajah, he said: "I feel like I have done so much in WWE that we just make up stuff now!

"It's like, 'I've had more combined days than every superstar besides one to be Intercontinental Champion!' Is it cool? Sure. Do we make an even bigger deal of it now with social media? Absolutely.

"I wouldn't even be able to tell you unless people tell me on the internet, 'Hey, guess what - you have X amount of combined days until you are beating Pedro Morales for the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion, or, 'You need one more reign to tie Chris Jericho!'

"I think you guys care about it a little bit more than I do."

Even though The Miz doesn't seem too interested, fans have made it clear that they want The Miz in the record books for the right reasons.

Plus, it's perhaps the last thing fans expected to hear from him, even if he was speaking out of character.

With The Miz now on the blue brand, he will be hoping he can smash some records on Tuesday's instead - starting with Money in the Bank later this month.
