Zinedine Zidane has quit as Real Madrid manager and some people are more devastated than others.

Every Real Madrid player has been paying tribute to the outgoing Frenchman on social media just days after he secured their third Champions League triumph.

Well, almost every player.

The man that played a key role in the latest Champions League triumph hasn’t said a word.

And Gareth Bale’s silence has been deafening.

Bale has endured a frustrating campaign at the Bernabeu and was dealt a massive blow by being left on the bench against Liverpool in Kiev.

He may have come off the bench to score an incredible overhead kick before Loris Karius fumbled his long-range effort into the back of the net, but Bale got everyone talking with his comments after the match.

WHAT BALE SAID AFTER THE MATCH

"Obviously, very disappointed not to start the game," said Bale. "I felt like I deserved to start but obviously the manager makes those decisions and what can you do.

"It's a team game and, as I say, I was very disappointed not to start."

"Obviously I need to be playing week-in, week-out and that hasn't been happening this season, for one reason or another.

"I had a five week injury at the start of the season and I've been fit ever since. I'll have to sit down in the summer and discuss it with my agent and take it from there."

And when asked whether Zidane had said anything to him after the match, Bale shook his head and said: “No.”

And when you consider Bale is yet to comment on Zidane quitting, we suddenly have a very clear picture of their relationship.

WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN BALE AND ZIDANE

And a video has emerged of Zidane’s first day at Madrid - and what happened with Bale.

It shows the French boss going around shaking hands with all the players. Each player stands up and meets Zidane with a warm handshake.

Bale? He remains sitting down whilst shaking his hand - before realising his mistake and standing up afterward.

While that probably has absolutely nothing to do with the current relationship between Zidane and Bale, many Madrid fans were quick to point it out.
