Brazilian forward Neymar made his comeback from injury in Sunday's 2-0 international friendly win over Croatia.

The PSG star - who hadn't played a competitive game since February - came off the bench at half-time and scored a tremendous solo goal to break the deadlock.

Brazil's coach Tite was very impressed with Neymar's second-half performance.

“For the first match back I actually expected less from him," Tite said. "I would have been happy with a quieter performance.

“What he did was really extraordinary.

"Neymar is an extraordinary individual talent but the goal he scored came from a move, a build-up, involving the whole team."

A big talking point from the game involved footage posted after the game in which Neymar and Croatia's Luka Modric were spotted signing each others shirts.

Modric and Neymar

Neymar has been linked with a move to Real Madrid since leaving Barcelona for PSG in a record-breaking €222m move last summer.

Fans watching the video closely heard Modric, 32, give a message to Neymar about his future.

“Te esperamos, eh?" said Modric in the Anfield tunnel, which translates to "we're waiting for you, eh?"

Neymar responded with a little laugh - and every Spanish media outlet was reporting on their interaction within a matter of hours.

It feels like it's only a matter of time before Neymar leaves PSG for the Santiago Bernabeu.

Former Barcelona midfielder Gaizka Mendieta claimed he wouldn't be surprised if Neymar moves to the Catalans arch rivals.

"I wouldn't be surprised if Neymar signed for Real Madrid," Mendieta told Omnisport.

"He is the player who can see his next challenge going to Real Madrid and if that happened he would do everything possible to be there. I insist that I wouldn't be surprised by that.

"I think Figo's signing for Real Madrid was harder for Barcelona supporters than Neymar could be. He was more important for Barcelona, he was the captain. Neymar went to PSG first.

"We will see if he goes to Madrid, let's see if Neymar arrived, let's see Ronaldo being there. I can admit Neymar is a great player but seeing Figo signing for Real Madrid was a lot.

"I don't know if we will see something like that in many many years."
