Arsenal have reportedly made an enquiry about a potential bid for Emir Spahic.
Sport.co.uk suggests that the Montpellier defender is in the sights of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger as he looks to bolster his backline.
The 29-year-old began his career in Croatia with NK Zagreb, before spending four years in Moscow formerly with Torpedo and latterly with Lokomotiv. He then moved to France last summer, and has gathered numerous admirers during his brief time in Ligue 1.
And it appears that Wenger is among the number who have their eye on the highly-rated Bosnia captain.
“There was some contact between the two clubs, but that is all,” Spahic’s agent Christian Leutrum told Sport.co.uk.
“He (Emir) heard of interest from Arsenal, but it is in-formal at the moment and there is nothing on the table thus far,
“He received a couple of phone calls through certain channels, but there is no offer from Arsenal at this moment in time. We will wait and see.”
Spahic has 35 caps for Bosnia, and can operate as either a centre-back or left-back.
