CM Punk is rightfully in the headlines right now in both the world of professional wrestling and mixed martial arts.

The former WWE Champion is gearing up for his second fight in the UFC which takes place in only five days, and understandably, his legion of wrestling fans are going to tune in to see how he fares inside of the Octagon following on from his disastrous debut against Mickey Gall.

Despite that, there is still plenty of talk surrounding a wrestling return for Punk, but obviously not in the WWE when you consider his ongoing lawsuit which looks to be going in his favour.

Instead, speculation turned up a notch a few weeks ago when it was revealed that Punk was spotted backstage at the All In press conference in Chicago, leading many to believe that he will make a surprise appearance at the independent wrestling show - especially since it takes place in his hometown.

Naturally, fans are treating it as a 'we'll believe it when we see it' moment as a Punk return seemed almost impossible at one point. Plus, a successful second fight in the UFC might scupper any plans of ditching the Octagon and returning to wrestling, but WWE's Booker T doesn't see it playing out that way.

Speaking on his podcast, Heated Conversations, the former World Heavyweight Champion analysed Punk's current situation and believes that he actually misses the wrestling world. In addition to that, he thinks should Punk lose in the UFC again, then that could trigger his passion for professional wrestling once more and make a comeback at the All In event.

BAD TASTE

According to Ringside News, he said: "I think he'll be at All In.

"I think if he loses this fight, he'll be at All in, with the Young Bucks [and] Cody Rhodes, making his way back to the pro wrestling world.

"I really think CM Punk [misses] the wrestling world. I just think he had a bad taste in his mouth, but he can get it back."

Everything does seem to be falling into place, though.

The event takes place in his hometown, which is always going to ignite speculation. A second successive loss in the UFC means his career in MMA could very well be over. He was also backstage at the press conference - which could have been more than a coincidence.

Not only that, but Punk is scheduled to appear at a signing in Chicago just one day before the event.

Only time will tell whether Booker T hit the nail on the head, as Punk will undoubtedly have enough time to reflect on his next move after this Saturday.
