Terrell Owens proved many a doubter wrong when he was announced as a member of the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame class earlier this year. The former third-round pick out of Chattanooga smashed all kinds of records in his time in the NFL, but his off field antics and lack of playoff success pushed his induction back far too long considering the incredible player he was. Now that Owens has achieved the highest personal honour in the sport, he's got his mind set on an unprecedented comeback to the league. The five-time All Pro played for five NFL teams across his 15 year career, and last laced them up for the Bengals in 2010.But, neither his long absence from the league, nor his age, seem to be deterring the now 44-year-old from attempting an audacious comeback. And, it seems like the NFL's second all-time leader in receiving yards knows exactly where he wants to play should he be successful in making an unlikely return. Following a tweet by Alzheimers Association featuring Owens supporting their amazing cause, the former 49ers star received a reply from the team's GM John Lynch pledging his support to TO.

The six-time Pro Bowler spent eight seasons in San Francisco during which he had some of his most dominant years as a pro, and he seems pretty keen on making a stunning comeback to the Bay Area to link up with Jimmy Garoppolo.

"Thanks. I know Jimmy G is gonna need a big play receiver this year at some point. Let's make it happen. #StayReady #VetMin" Owens replied to Lynch, even pledging that he'd be prepared to play on a minimum contract to make his return happen.

It's not the first time Owens has mentioned a comeback since retiring either. He's often made himself available to NFL teams via social media but this offseason his claims seem to be more serious.

He's been working out to get into game shape, and has even challenged Odell Beckham Jr. to work out with him!

He's also posted videos showing off his still dazzlingly quick feet and shredded physique, which certainly make him the look the part of a man who could still keep up with the pace of the game.

He would also be the first active Hall of Famer in NFL history, which would set an incredible precedent moving forward.

In reality it's highly unlikely the Owens will get the return he so greatly desires, but it sure is fun thinking about one of the league's best receivers of all time challenging himself against the talented defensive backs in the league today at age 44.

A one-on-one matchup between Owens and Jalen Ramsey or Aqib Talib... now that's exciting stuff, even if it's just for the trash talk!
