Bristol City have offered a six-month contract to former QPR and Peterborough defender Tom Williams.

The out-of-contract left-back, who spent last season on loan at Preston, arrived at Ashton Gate on trial less than two weeks ago.

City assistant manager Keith Millen said: "It's a short-term contract and hopefully Tom and his agent will accept. We know what he can do, he is an established Championship player and it would give us competition on the left-hand side."
