Despite not scoring like he usually does in big games, Sergio Ramos made quite the impact in the 2017/18 Champions League final against Liverpool.
It was the Spaniard's challenge that injured Mohamed Salah in the 30th minute and forced Jurgen Klopp to replace him.
He also had a collision with goalkeeper Loris Karius which, according to doctors, gave the Liverpool goalkeeper a concussion.
And we all know what happened after that. Karius made two schoolboy errors that both led to goals for Real Madrid and won them the game.
So almost two weeks on from the final Ramos is once again making headlines for all the wrong reasons, yet Toni Kroos doesn't believe his teammate gave Karius a concussion at all.
Kroos is adamant that if Karius had really suffered a concussion he wouldn't have been able to play the rest of the game.
"I don't know if that explains the errors - I don't really see it that way," he said. "If it's a concussion and you notice it so extreme, I don't know if you can or should continue playing.
KROOS BACKS RAMOS
"If it's a concussion, it cannot have been so serious. He also had the opportunity to keep the ball in his hands."
Kroos may have a point, but now he's given his take on the Ramos-Salah incident and what he's said is pretty ridiculous.
According to the Germany international, Ramos' tackle on Salah wasn't deliberate and the Spanish centre-back isn't an aggressive player - no, seriously.
Bear in mind this is a man who has received 24 red cards throughout his career for Real. Here's what Kroos had to say.
"I'm sure that there was no deliberate intention to injury him (Salah)," he said. "The ref didn't even blow for a foul.
"Ramos isn't an aggressive player. He has shown many times in the past that he isn't.
"I'm really glad that he's our captain; I didn't see anything that could be classed as anti-sporting behaviour."
Whatever you say, Toni. Football fans have been reacting to Kroos' bizarre comments about Ramos and they're pretty gobsmacked, as you can see by the above and below tweets.
Kroos isn't fooling anyone, because while Ramos is a world-class centre-back he's largely renowned for his aggression and naughty tactics on the football pitch.
Not that we should expect anything less seeing as they're club teammates.
