It's fair to say that Liverpool haven't messed around in the transfer market in the two weeks since losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid.

After the 3-1 defeat, which has been scrutinised and analysed beyond belief in the time that has subsequently passed, the Reds waited just two days to make their first summer signing.

Fabinho joined from Monaco for £43m in what must be one of the most rapid transfers ever, as they wrapped the deal up within an hour of their interest initially being reported.

They've now been heavily linked with Gent winger Moses Simon for a reported £10m, and he would certainly add to the side's already ferocious pace in attack.

Xherdan Shaqiri is another name in the mix, as the Swiss star has a £12m release clause following Stoke's relegation to the Championship.

But it's pretty clear that Jurgen Klopp's main target is Lyon captain Nabil Fekir.

The academy graduate has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield after a scintillating season at the Groupama Stadium in which he scored 23 goals in 40 appearances, as well as adding eight assists.

Fekir scored a penalty against Liverpool's Merseyside rivals Everton in the Europa League, but he really made noise with his stunning free-kick against PSG.

There have been several contrasting reports so far, suggesting that Lyon were not willing to sell, and even if they were that other clubs may be interested.

But now it seems like Liverpool have their definitive answer, according to the Mirror anyway.

And it's good news for the Reds.

That's because Fekir has reportedly told his boyhood club that he only wants to play for Klopp's side - causing Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas to admit defeat in the battle to keep their star man.

The French outfit are now prepared to sell, but only if the price is right for them.

It's thought that the price could be as little as £50m, which is incredible value considering Fekir's potential.

Liverpool are naturally keen to tie a deal up as soon as possible, as his price tag could well increase if he shines at the World Cup for France this summer.

The news that another Lyon player, Houssem Aouar, has signed a five-year deal at the club really started to get the Anfield faithful hopeful that they were starting to win the battle for Fekir.

It seems inevitable that we'll see him lining up in the famous red jersey next season now.
