Daniel Bryan is one of the best and most beloved superstars in the entire WWE today. He's a solid fan favourite and his in-ring work shows he deserves his high spot on the roster, but he has recently heaped huge praise on unlikely WWE legend for making him who he is today. From indie superstar to WWE Champion, Bryan's in-ring wrestling career has had it all, and at some point or another, he will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for his achievements in the ring. For every great wrestler, however, there's usually a great teacher as well. Many fans already know about The Yes! Man's training history with Shawn Michaels and Rudy Boy Gonzalez at the Texas Wrestling Academy in San Antonio, Texas, but what some people don't know is that another WWE legend played a big part in the success of his wrestling career as well.

Bryan praises Regal

Although these days he plays a big part in the development of WWE's NXT division as their general manager, William Regal also played a part in the development of Daniel Bryan in the WWE as well. The man himself though doesn't want to take credit for Bryan's success.

He said in a recent tweet: "To clarify this. I didn’t train @WWEDanielBryan or @mrbriankendrick.I trained with them a lot from 2000. They were very well trained by Shaun Micheal’s and Rudy Boy Gonzalas at Shaun’s school. They were already great when I met them."

Bryan, however, disagreed with Regal and wanted to give him the credit where credit is due.

He even said that he wouldn't have had the success he did without Regal's mentorship.

The four-time world champion said in his own tweet: "To classify us as “great” in 2000 would be a generous overstatement. Rudy and Shawn provided excellent training for a beginner who wanted to learn, but I would have never had the success I did without your mentorship #fact."

Although Bryan will just be wrestling against Big Cass this weekend at the Money in the Bank event and won't be in the Money in the Bank ladder match itself, WWE fans aren't too concerned as they know he'll be given another world title shot in the near future, hopefully before his rumored departure from the company.

No matter what happens to Bryan in the WWE, he's creating some lasting memories for fans, and we all have Regal to thank for that.
