When Ronda Rousey made her WWE debut back at the Royal Rumble at the start of the year, many WWE fans were reserved as to how well she would do in the company, especially in her debut match at WrestleMania 34.

However, when it was time for Rowdy to perform at this year's Showcase of the Immortals, she blew expectations out of the water with her in-ring prowess and won the fans over, removing all doubt of her ability to perform in the WWE. She looked like she was having fun.

Almost all WWE fans know that prior to her joining the company, Rousey was an MMA fighter for the UFC, the same promotion which former WWE superstar CM Punk is an MMA fighter for.

Just Have Fun

Prior to Rousey joining the WWE, Punk actually gave the former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion some surprising advice about the transition from MMA to the WWE. Punk told Rowdy to make sure she had fun in the ring.

He said (which you can see from 4:44 in the video further down): “The only thing I told her was to just have fun. I don’t know what it’s like back there in this current environment. I know she’d probably get treated differently, just as I know I probably get treated differently here.

"The only thing I ever told her is, ‘I know you’ve got a lot of people telling you, do this, don’t do this’ — whatever you do, when you go out there for WrestleMania, make sure you have fun. Period.”

Rousey certainly has looked like she has been having fun in the WWE so far. Whether it be flipping Triple H through a table, lifting The Game on her shoulders, to putting Stephanie McMahon in an armbar, to winning alongside Kurt Angle at WrestleMania.

She'll be hoping to have even more fun this weekend when she takes part in her first-ever singles match in the WWE when she wrestles against Nia Jax for the Raw Women's Championship at Money in the Bank this Sunday.

As for Punk, a return to wrestling still seems unlikely for now, but in the meanwhile, he's still hoping to create his own MMA career in UFC. He has his own fight this weekend against Mike Johnson at UFC 225 in his hometown of Chicago.
