Rashford's brilliant first half

The Manchester United forward didn’t have the best season at Old Trafford but he started the match full of confidence.

He produced a wonderful elastico in the opening moments that football fans loved.

And things got even better for Rashford shortly afterwards, when he gave England the lead with a truly brilliant goal.

Rashford’s first half caught the attention of Gary Lineker, who wrote on Twitter: “Marcus Rashford is such a prodigious talent. 👏👏”.

Rashford figures to play an important role for England in Russia.

The 20-year-old was a part of the side that disappointed at the 2016 European Championship and he hopes the pain of that tournament will inspire England at the World Cup.

"The feeling of losing is a nasty feeling," Rashford said this week, per Sky Sports.

"Sometimes when you speak to people they don't really understand the feeling.

"We'll definitely take the things that happened in that tournament into the next one because that's going to put us in good stead."
