Reports suggest that Liverpool are interested in signing France Under-19 captain Gueida Fofana.

The teenager led his country to Under-19 European Championship glory last month, and has been coveted by some of Europe's biggest clubs.

A defensive midfielder by trade, Fofana currently plays for French club Le Havre, but believes his best days will be away from the Stade Jules Deschaseaux.

His comments, as well as his commanding and powerful displays for Les Bleus, have led him to be linked with the move away from Le Club Doyen he craves - and suggests that Liverpool are one of his potential suitors.

Fofana said: "I am feeling great after winning the Euros, we played really well and deserved to win,

"I have heard that there are teams interested in me, but nothing concrete has come out as yet,"

But the 19-year-old admitted he is sympathetic to the feelings of his hometown club.

He told "If I have to leave here (Le Havre), I want to make sure it is on good terms.
