CM Punk, despite being 0-1 in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career, is one of the hottest discussions in the UFC right now.Punk made his MMA debut in 2016 when he took on welterweight prospect Mickey Gall. Gall made quick work of Punk, taking the fight via first round submission victory just two minutes into the bout. Now, two more years of training later, the former WWE Champion is ready to return. He will step into the cage against MMA journalist and fellow 0-1 record holder Mike Jackson. The fight will controversially open up the main card on PPV in Punk's hometown of Chicago, Illinois.Despite a fight between two fighters who have never won a professional fight in their careers happening on the card, it's still one of, if not the, most talked about fights on the card because of Punk's name.

Training Partners

Punk trains at Roufussport, one of the best MMA gyms in the world; that features names like former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, current welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and so many more.

It turns out that top-ranked UFC lightweight Kevin Lee, who does a lot of cross training at Roufussport, has trained a bit with the former WWE star.

He recently did a Reddit Q&A with fans and discussed various topics. One question was "how would you fare against CM Punk."

Lee is one of the most dominant lightweight fighters on the planet right now, so this question is obviously laughable at best.

The Motown Phenom responded by saying that he has trained with Punk before, and noted "he need it":

“That can’t be a real question. I go over to Roufusport to cross train a lot. I try and help the guy out. He need it.”

Hot Contender

Lee has caught fire recently on the MMA scene. Despite being submitted by Tony Ferguson for the interim lightweight title this past October, Lee still put on a competitive performance and proved he belonged in the upper echelon of the division.

He bounced back against Edson Barboza this past April and finished the Brazilian striker via TKO in the fifth round after putting on an absolutely dominant performance.

For a fan to ask Lee how he'd fare against Punk - ridiculous. It's likely Lee wins a UFC title at some point in his career.
