Love him or hate him, both sets of fans were tuning in on Saturday night to see how CM Punk would fare in his second outing in the Octagon at UFC 225.

WWE fans wanted to see what their beloved former hero would be able to accomplish after a disastrous debut against Mickey Gall, while UFC fans were eager to know whether they were right in their criticism and whether or not he made any improvements.

DEFEAT

Granted, he was against Mike Jackson who also came into the bout with a 0-1 record and also lost in the first round to Gall. So, the match-up was perfect, but that didn't stop fans from criticising the UFC from putting two inexperienced names on the main card of a huge event.

Naturally, the reaction hasn't been 100% toxic. Although his career in the UFC now looks to be over, Punk has received some praise for lasting the full three rounds and was able to live his dream on two occasions.

With so many eyes watching to see what unfolds, it was only a matter of time before those from the wrestling world had their say on what went down in Illinois.

Considering WWE has a poor relationship with Punk, nobody was going to expect management or the huge stars to congratulate Punk publicly, especially since he won a lawsuit against a WWE doctor earlier this week.

Even when Punk fought at UFC 203 in his debut, he did receive some messages on social media but very few - from those in WWE - directly referenced him by name, but it was clear just who they were congratulating.

REACTIONS

While fans might be waiting for quite a while before the huge names in WWE react to Punk's loss, some have already taken to Twitter to have their saw, and while the congratulatory messages are there, there's one which sticks out for all of the wrong reasons.

As you'll be able to see below, Tommy Dreamer, The Hurricane, Cody Rhodes, Jim Ross and Sasha Banks have reacted to Punk's loss against The Truth.

Even CM Punk has quickly broken his silence after his defeat.

However, it's the reaction from Corey Graves which has the wrestling world talking.

Graves went on a rant regarding Punk and clearly took things very personal based on some of the tweets he sent out - all of which you can view by clicking here.

Fans are now debating whether Graves was right to react in the manner he did, where he also offered to fight the former WWE Champion, or whether this should have remained behind closed doors and the two should have worked their issues out privately.

Considering a figure like Stephanie McMahon has publicly poked fun at CM Punk's first loss in the UFC, it might not be too long before more jokes find their way to television.
