The LeBron James sweepstakes are in full flow as the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar is set to enter free agency on July 1 and has a big decision to make on his future.Following a humiliating Finals sweep against the Golden State Warriors, there is a real possibility that James departs his hometown team for the second time. After fulfilling his promise of delivering the franchise its first championship when he came back in 2014, the King has the right to walk away from Ohio on this occasion and is unlikely to receive such a huge backlash. But the rumours continue to circulate every day about where he could possibly take his talents and which team would give him the best opportunity to compete for a championship against the Warriors. His likeliest destinations would appear to be the Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers or Los Angeles Lakers.

Reality check

Since the Finals ended on Friday, several players across the league have taken to social media to recruit LeBron with subtle posts.

But after receiving a request from Brooklyn Nets fans to do the same, Spencer Dinwiddie offered a brutal reality check to those dreaming of seeing the three-time champion at the Barclays Center.

The point guard kindly declined the request by saying: "I’m sorry to say this but to all the BK fans asking me/us to recruit Bron. He ain’t coming here lol I’m not even gonna sell y’all that dream."

The 25-year-old wanted to keep things in perspective as everybody knows there's no chance that the King will don a Nets jersey.

Dinwiddie simply wasn't going to waste his time even entertaining the thought and going through the trouble of sending a tweet to the Cavs superstar.

Instead, he wanted Brooklyn fans to focus on one of their young prospects as he gave a shoutout to teammate Jarrett Allen, claiming that he will be a top-five center in the league in the future.

Options

Brooklyn won't be his landing spot but after losing his sixth Finals, James admitted that he had "no idea at this point" if he'd played his last game for Cleveland

The 33-year-old stressed that any decision he does make will be heavily influenced by his family.

"The one thing that I've always done is considered, obviously, my family," he said per ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

"So sitting down and considering everything, my family is a huge part of whatever I'll decide to do in my career, and it will continue to be that. So I don't have an answer for you right now as far as that."

With free agency just weeks away, the eyes of the basketball world will be fixed on the superstar as he contemplates his future once again.
