A fight between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder has been in the pipeline for some time, but negotiations between both camps have been difficult. It has got to the point where many think that a fight between the two will never be agreed. But Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, revealed last week his belief that the fight could be announced in the next three or four weeks.“I think we’re gonna get the Wilder fight done, it’s just a case of whether we can get it done by the time of his next fight, which could be as early as September," he said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.“I think the Wilder fight will be agreed within the next three to four weeks.”“I think there’s a real desire from all sides – fighters, managers, promoters, trainers – to make the fight."

DEONTAY WILDER TWEETS

And it seems a deal between the two has now been all but completed.

Wilder took to Twitter to announce that he had accepted the offer to fight Joshua next in the UK, while also saying the $50M offer for him to fight me next in the US is still available.

He tweeted: "Breaking news for all you Anthony Joshua fans... The $50M offer for him to fight me next in the US is still available. Today I even agreed to their offer to fight Joshua next in the UK. If he prefers the fight in the UK, the ball is in their court. It’s up to them to choose."

Also embedded in the tweet is a video of Wilder saying that he is not afraid of anyone.

Great news.

It seems a fight is likely to occur some time before the end of 2018, which is what all boxing fans want to see.

ESPN have also reported that Wilder's manager, Shelly Finkel, has also revealed that his camp have accepted the fight.

“We have agreed to the terms that Eddie has put out to us for a fight in the U.K," he said.

"Deontay has accepted his terms to fight in the U.K. Deontay sent an email to Joshua (Sunday) night and I sent one today to Barry Hearn and Eddie telling them that we officially accept the offer to fight under the terms they gave us and to send us the contract."

And they go on to report that that the offer is a two-fight deal with terms also agreed to for a rematch that would take place in the United States.

It's an exciting time in the world of heavyweight boxing.
