It's no exaggeration that this summer's transfer window will be one of most important in Arsenal's recent history.
With Arsene Wenger stepping down and Unai Emery coming in as his replacement, the Gunners are set to undergo a huge transition.
Manchester United went through the very same when David Moyes replaced Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013 and it says a lot that even they struggled with the change.
Much will depend on what Emery does with Arsenal's squad as to whether he succeeds or flops in his debut season at the club.
New faces are most certainly needed this summer, there are no two ways about it, and Emery has already brought in 34-year-old right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free from Juventus.
It's by no means the greatest signing in the world but Lichtsteiner is experienced and solid, which if anything is exactly what Arsenal need in defence right now.
Sampdoria's Lucas Torreira is next up on Emery's list of targets and according to David Ornstein, talks are underway over a €30m move for the Uruguayan.
EMERY'S ON FIRE
And then there's a new goalkeeper. Arsenal fans are desperate for Petr Cech to be replaced following another dodgy season and it seems Emery is aware of what must be done.
Ornstein added in his tweet that the Spanish manager wants to sign a new No.1 once he has completed the signings of both Lichtsteiner and Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
"As widely reported Arsenal in talks to sign Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira," Ornstein wrote. "No agreement but central midfield a priority.
"Twenty-two-year-old Uruguay international seen as ideal fit technically and financially. Arsenal also want a goalkeeper after defensive signings of Lichtsteiner and Sokratis (announced July)."
Emery eyeing a new goalkeeper will be music to the ears of Arsenal fans, who won't have to wait much longer for a signing to be made it seems.
It's been reported by Sport Bild and ESPN (see below) that Bayer Leverkusen shot-stopper Bernd Leno is on the brink of joining Arsenal and an announcement could be imminent.
And now Sky Sports have confirmed the rumours, not to mention that Arsenal have agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund for Sokratis.
Arsenal sure mean business. Leno is a top-class goalkeeper and if he does end up joining for the reported fee of £22m it will be a very good signing.
Lichtsteiner, Sokratis, Torreira and Leno - not bad at all from Emery.
