WWE's go-home SmackDown Live show before the Money in the Bank event this Sunday took place last night, and it certainly created a lot of talking points for the blue brand ahead of this weekend's pay-per-view.

New Look

WWE continued the build for the men's and women's Money in the Bank ladder matches, Daniel Bryan vs Big Cass, the SmackDown Women's Championship match between Carmella and Asuka, and the WWE Championship match between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura.

SmackDown fans were also treated to a match that was fresh in more ways than one. Not only did they witness Money in the Bank participants Samoa Joe and Rusev clash in the middle of the ring with The Miz as the special guest referee, but The Destroyer also had a fresh new look.

Joe came down to the ring for his match against The Bulgarian Brute sporting a mohawk hairstyle, which seems to have caught all WWE fan's attention on social media, as they can't stop making jokes about it.

Although the haircut looks clean and it does suit him, WWE fans couldn't help but make references to Bernie from Sesame Street, Beaker from The Muppets, as well as Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Social Media Reaction

Unfortunately for The Destroyer, things didn't go so well for him in the ring, as he bumped into The Miz, who then refused to count a fall for the former NXT champion. The momentary distraction provided an opportunity for Rusev to win the match, which he took.

The Bulgarian Brute delivered the Machka Kick to the side of Joe's to score the upset victory. The Destroyer will be looking to turn things around against both The Miz and Rusev in the men's Money in the Bank ladder match this Sunday.

This is the second haircut which WWE fans have witnessed this week, as Monday Night Raw's Constable Baron Corbin recently got rid of his long hair to sport a clean bald look instead in the transition of having a more corporate gimmick on the red brand.

Samoa Joe will be involved in the men's Money in the Bank match for a world championship contract against Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, The Miz, Rusev, Bobby Roode, Kevin Owens, and either Big E, Kofi Kingston, or Xavier Woods of The New Day this Sunday at the Allstate Arena in Chicago.
