The Premier League announced the fixture list for the upcoming season earlier on Thursday, and it has not been kind to Arsenal.Arsenal fans will have hoped for new manager Unai Emery to be given an easy start to next season, but it was exactly the opposite.Emery's first game will come against Manchester City at home on the first day of the season. Ouch.After opening against the reigning Champions, Arsenal will then contest a London derby against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.Talk about tough. Not many managers have Twitter accounts, but Emery is one who is active on the social media platform. He has now reacted to the news on Twitter, and it seems he is very excited about the prospect of opening against two of England's best teams. The Premier League tweeted a welcome to Emery, while making reference to his first two games in England's top tier. And the former Paris Saint-Germain manager thanked the Premier League for the welcome, while also claiming he is 'very excited' about the first two games.

Fair play.

Many Arsenal fans will be concerned that Emery will endure the worst possible start to life as manager.

But it seems the 46-year-old is actually happy with the fixtures he has been given.

Fortunately, it does get a little easier for Emery, with his next five fixtures after Chelsea being against West Ham, Cardiff, Newcastle, Everton and Watford.

Elsewhere, Arsenal are scheduled to play their north London derbies against Tottenham in December and March.

Arsenal will host Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium on 1 December, while the return fixture will be played four months later on 2 March.
