The Bills selected Josh Allen with the ninth overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft. It was a move that drew a fair amount of criticism given the former Wyoming QB's rawness, but his almost-mythical arm strength was too hard to say no to for Brandon Beane and co. Nearly two months into life in the NFL, and Allen is already showing exactly why he was so highly touted coming out of college. The Bills reported for minicamp this week, and it's safe to say Allen's incredible ability to throw the football has caught the eye of his teammates. That includes Pro Bowler running back LeSean McCoy, who heaped the praise onto his rookie quarterback after practice, Tuesday. "He's smart," McCoy said per ESPN. "He has to learn, of course. He throws some passes that probably shouldn't have been thrown. Other than that, he has a strong arm. He's very intelligent. He's too smart. I tell him sometimes, 'Hey, easy. This is not like an exam. Just talk to me. You can say, 'Yo.' You can say, 'What's up?'"But from a talent level, he's going to be really good for a lot of years. I want to be a part of that, when he takes over eventually. We took him early in the draft, so that's just common sense. He's special, that's for sure.""I’m usually not a big fan of rookies but this kid is pretty good." he added.

When you see the clips of Allen ripping it down field, it's not hard to see why McCoy seems so excited to get to work with him.

Allen has been splitting first team reps with veterans AJ McCarron and Nathan Peterman and head coach Sean McDermott hasn't ruled out the possibility of the exciting rookie being the starter come week one of the regular season.

"I think it's in pencil at this point in time," McDermott said of a timeline for naming a starter. "And I could say [that], somewhat, for every position, really. There will be a time in training camp where we need to be decisive and be reminded of that, for the betterment of the team -- in terms of the continuity of our football team, just in terms of getting people playing with each other at the same with the 1s, or with the 2s, or with the 3s -- that there's a chemistry that's so important."

If Allen continues to impress, it could be a thrilling season ahead for Bills fans!
