On Sunday night, Money in the Bank will offer 16 WWE superstars a chance to pull down the briefcase - and in turn, earn themselves a title match.

Following on from 2017, there will be both a men and women's ladder match - but this year, there are eight competitors in each.

SMACKDOWN VS RAW

Challengers in the two matches are split evenly between the two brands, Monday Night RAW and SmackDown Live.

The red brand is being represented by Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, Braun Strowman and Bobby Roode in the men's - and Alexa Bliss, Ember Moon, Natalya and Sasha Banks in the women's.

For Smackdown Live: Rusev, The Miz and Samoa Joe are fighting to bring the briefcase to Tuesday nights - as are Lana, Becky Lynch, Naomi and Charlotte Flair.

A member of The New Day will also be taking part in the men's ladder match - but it's not yet been announced who it will be - fans will have to wait until Sunday to find that out.

Although, many will be hoping that it's Kofi Kingston - because he's the one with a vast amount of MITB experience - and is no stranger to massive spots in the ladder match.

INEXPERIENCED CHALLENGERS

Unlike Kofi, there are plenty of competitors who are completely inexperienced when it comes to MITB. Most notably though, it's Lana who seems very out of place.

The Ravishing Russian only began her singles career about a year ago - but has been regularly appearing on Smackdown Live.

She had a number of high profile matches but had lost every single one she had on the main roster.

That was until May 2018 - when she beat Billy Kay to shock the WWE Universe and earn a place in the women's MITB match.

As Lana has only had a handful of singles matches in WWE, Sunday's ladder match will be a new experience for her.

Although she's really not expected to win, she's been taking her preparation very seriously.

SURPRISE HELP

In fact, she's enlisted the help of two surprising superstars to help her prepare for Sunday. On her Instagram, Lana revealed that Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella have been working with her.

"I'm in San Diego, I just wrapped training with Daniel Bryan and Brie," Lana said, per Wrestling Inc.

"They were amazing, they've been helping me prepare for this Money In The Bank ladder match that I have this Sunday. I'm so excited!"

Of course, Bryan is no stranger to ladder matches himself, so it's good to see him passing on his knowledge to someone that really needs it.

But it's also interesting to note that Brie appears to be giving her support too, which is also a nice touch.
