Neymar and Brazil will get underway at this summer's World Cup tomorrow.

The past few days have seen super stars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo step into the limelight and a date with Switzerland awaits the player who most consider to be the third best in the world.

The Paris Saint-Germain star has unfinished business at the World Cup after a successful campaign in 2014, but one that ultimately ended in injury and helplessness as his teammates were thrashed by Germany.

And there's plenty of reason to suggest this summer could be a lucrative one for Neymar with many tipping Brazil as the favourites to go all the way.

That, in turn, means that many are backing Neymar to be in the Golden Boot mix alongside fellow forward Gabriel Jesus.

Neymar, Messi and Ronaldo

Nevertheless, it won't be easy for the 26-year-old to outshine the aforementioned Messi and Ronaldo.

That's particularly the case for the latter after a sensational performance against Spain on Friday, although it must be imagined that Messi will kick on after a flat Iceland showing.

And in the build up to Brazil's first game, Neymar has spoken of the two stars with nothing but respect.

Neymar's classy comment

Although Neymar probably sees himself as a future Ballon d'Or winner and is rumoured to have left Barcelona for more individual success, he believes Ronaldo and Messi are in a league of their own.

Speaking to Brazilian YouTube channel Desimpedidos, he noted: "The two who are above all others right now are Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi.

"For all modesty, today I am the best player in the world — because they are from another planet."

Absolute class from Neymar.

Nevertheless, he isn't too bothered about being the best player in the world anyway as he focuses on bagging a sixth World Cup win for Brazil.

"I don't want to be the best player in the world, I want to win the World Cup," Neymar continued.

"Winning the trophy would make myself, my family and my country so happy."

The 26-year-old is seen by many as having a poor attitude and being difficult to work with, but it's comments like these that make you wonder whether that's really the case with Neymar.

Given his unbelievable talent and potential, it would be brilliant to see Neymar enjoy a successful World Cup.

Whether or not that would end with silverware, though, is unknown with the likes of Germany and Spain looking strong.

That's not to mention, like he said, a certain Portuguese and Argentine who will have their say at some point this summer. It's going to be great.
